eager: implies ardor and enthusiasm and sometimes impatience at delay or restraint: ~ to get started on the trip.    （ardor热情兴奋implies a warm and excited feeling,如the ardor of their honeymoon soon faded蜜月的热情兴奋很快消退了）


avid: adds to eager the implication of insatiability or greed: young pleasure-seekers ~ for the next thrill.

athirst: stresses yearning or longing but not necessarily readiness for action: ~ for adventure on her first trip to India.  (yearn和long都是渴望to have a strong desire for something差别很小，但yearn更强烈更痛苦让人坐立不安，相较long程度更深，因此电视剧《渴望》的英文名是yearning，如yearned for a career on the stage渴望舞台生涯)


eager热切: 形容有热情和兴趣，不愿克制等待，avid热切: 比eager多了贪婪难以满足的意思，keen热衷: 表示兴趣强烈反应迅速，anxious焦急: 也表示热切，但更强调害怕挫折失败失望等，athirst渴望: 强调渴求希望，但可能还没准备就绪
